Mexico is a dream destination for students seeking an internship in the tourism sector. With its gorgeous beaches, astonishing culture and world-famous cuisine, it is not surprising that Mexico is one the most visited countries in the world. The people make the destination even more attractive since Mexicans have a reputation for being very generous and welcoming.

The country offers a great variety of tourism opportunities with its ruins, colonial cities, and especially beach resorts. Mexico is an exotic country with an enviable climate. As a result, Mexican hotels are open all year round so students can start their internship at any time! Top internship destinations are mostly situated in the state of Yucatán: Riviera Maya, Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Students leaving for Mexico need to be open-minded and ready for adventure.

Positions

With high activity in the tourism sector in Mexico, many internships are available in the different departments of well known luxury Hotels: Reception, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Kitchen and Entertainment. The internships last between 3 and 6 months and in some cases you can work in more than one department. Internships are also available in administrative positions such as: Human Resources Assistant, Public Relations, Marketing or Purchases. All hotels offer accommodation and daily meals.

Special conditions

All students must obtain a visa in order to work in Mexico. The visa must be obtained before leaving for Mexico. The Mexican government allows this kind of visa for a maximum duration of 6 months. The visa needed is a special visa for interns and not a student visa. We will provide you with all the important information you need.

It is also mandatory for every student to sign an internship agreement with the host organisation and the student’s university.
